Capt. Dave, Editor and founder of the Captain’s Potomac Quarterly. “I had often thought of a newspaper called ‘Transom Times’ to be a kind of Tailgate Party for Boaters. When I sat down to create a logo for the idea. Captain’s Potomac Quarterly came into view and seemed to have a much broader appeal. I have been extremely fortunate to have lived the boater’s life as a longtime liveaboard and cruising Captain. My U.S.C.G. License’ has given me opportunity to Captain the I.C.W. and the southern reaches of South Florida and the Keys, thus having a profound effect on my perspective, music endeavors, creativity, and commentary. I am a Graphics man from word go. Trained at Corcoran School of Art, an Ex-Air Force illustrator, My thrust in executing the paper is more visual than anything else. Some days I’m the Editor. .other days the paperboy, and always the Janitor! |

“Dot” Mobley aka Dotkomrade, is much more than just another pretty face. Dot and I first met some years ago via an illustrative story in an email. It had all of the flavor of a 1940’s Private Investigator’s Novel. The writing was so descriptive and colorful, (as she is) You could all but hear the Saxophone playing in the background, and see through the frosted glass facade of the office. Since then, having recognized her natural talent as a fluid writer, Dot has done a bang-em-up-job, being contentiously outspoken, as she wades through our regular BONES-TO-PICK column(most issues), pontificating, deliberating, and exasperating over the minutest of lifes aggravations. Thanks Dot!! |
